Since the 2005 REDIMadrid incorporates IPv6 support natively with dual hardware support IPv4-IPv6 for experiences with this new version of the IP protocol. The centres thus have an Internet connection with global addressing without the need to use IPv6/IPv4, 6to4, etc. tunnels.
The Telematic Research Network of Madrid is configured, in coordination with the institutions connected to it and with RedIRIS, to support IP multidestination traffic (multicast) in a native way.
